Polcie seek witnesses after report that car drove at moped and collision left rider injured

POLICE are appealing for witnesses or footage of a collision in Basildon which left a moped rider needing hospital treatment.

It was reported a white car was in collision with a moped at the junction of Whitmore Way and Pendle Drive shortly before 5.30pm on Thursday, 19 January).

It is believed the car may have deliberately driven at the moped and failed to stop at the scene.

The rider of the moped was taken to hospital for treatment.

A police statement says: "If you have any information or footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us. Please quote incident 878 of 19 January.
