Basildon and district will remember
By Nub News Reporter 6th Nov 2026
RESIDENTS will come together across Basildon, South Essex and the wider region on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, and continue to serve, in the Armed Forces.
Events across the borough will include parades, services and wreath-laying ceremonies, bringing together veterans, serving personnel, cadets, community organisations and residents. Those attending morning services will observe the national two-minute silence at 11am.

Cllr Sam Journet, Mayor of Basildon said: "Remembrance Sunday gives us the opportunity to pause together and honour the service, courage and sacrifice of generations of Armed Forces personnel.
"By gathering in communities across our borough, we ensure their stories are remembered and show our gratitude to veterans, serving personnel and their families. I hope residents will join us in reflection and remembrance."
