THE East of England Ambulance Service rushed a man to a London hospital in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, 18 January) after he fell from height while working at the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Basildon.

The incident happened in the early hours of the morning.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "Shortly after 1am we sent an ambulance, and ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance following a report of a man who had fallen from height.

"The patient, who had sustained serious injuries, was transported by road ambulance to the Royal London Hospital."

It was the first of two emergency dashes to the hospital by local ambulance teams.

Within two hours another crew rushed a man there from South Ockendon after an accident while he was working on power cables.
