Basildon Town 3, Hackney Wick 1
TOWN came from behind to progress through to the next round of the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Challenge Cup last night (Wednesday, 7 September).
After making a bright start in the clash at Rookery Hill, Town conceded the game's first goal after 11 minutes.
It took them just three minutes to get back on level terms, Albert Perry slotting home at the back post.
And on 25 minutes they took the lead when Billy Hutchison rounded the keeper and slotted home.
More chances came and went at both ends but it remained 2-1 at the break.
Town made the game safe on 64 minutes when sub Marcus Bowers got on the end of a flick from another replacement, Jamie Bradbourn, to finish and put the match beyond the visitors.
