A PICKLEBALL competition was held at Basildon Sporting Village on Friday afternoon (4 February).

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis.

Each competitor played doubles matches with a different partner against random opponents and and their points won tallied up to see who played the best overall.

Karen Morris and Steve Lennox scored the same number of points, so they played a final doubles match.

Karen was paired with Gary Church and Steve with Tracy Kinton.

After a long fought, nailbitter of a match, Karen Morris and Gary Church won 11/9. Karen Morris was declared the winner and was presented the prize of a Drop Shot Radikal paddle, donated by Drop Shot UK and a bottle of wine.
