A disappointing match which was largely devoid of quality on a threadbare, bumpy pitch at Chadfields turned into an even more disappointing result.
BASILDON Rugby Club's girls team have won through to the semi-finals of the national age group cup.
They did so thanks to a 27-10 victory against Worthing, getting off to a flying start with a try under the posts within three minutes from Lucy Lawford- Wilby which was converted by team captain Jess Ingram.
A PICKLEBALL competition was held at Basildon Sporting Village on Friday afternoon (4 February).
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis.

BRAVE Bowers and Pitsea put on a tremendous performance in the FA Cup first round at League One Lincoln City on Saturday – just running out of steam in the second half after going so close to scoring in the first half when there was little difference between the sides separated by 99 places in the football pyramid.

BOWERS and Pitsea are through the first proper of the FA Cup after a giant-killing act today (Saturday, 16 October).
They beat the former Football League side Aldershot 2-1 at the Len Salmon Stadium in the Fourth Qualifying Round in front of a crowd of 564.
MAX Cornhill scored the only goal of the game as Bowers & Pitsea recorded a second victory of their Isthmian premier campaign in front of a healthy crowd of 280 at the Len Salmon Stadium this afternoon (Saturday, 25 September).
Cornhill struck in the 52nd minute against visitors Horsham and the result keeps Bowers in the middle of the table.

Students from Woodlands, Gable Hall and Beauchamps High School and South Essex Gym Club took part in the event at Gloucester Park which saw them compete in nine events.
