A CAR park serving shops and restaurants in Pitsea was closed off by police for much of Sunday afternoon (6 February) as they investigated an incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The car park serves the Mcdonalds and KFC restaurants and a number of stores including Lidl.

A statement from police said: "Our officers were called to a car park in High Road shortly after 1.45pm this afternoon, Sunday 6 February, following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. "The car park has been closed and is likely to remain shut for several hours. "We need anyone who witnessed the collision but did not speak with officers at the scene to contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone who has any dash cam footage. "If you have any information you can submit a report online here where you can use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm. Please quote incident 654 of February 6. You can also call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111." The car park reopened at 6pm.
