THE conversion of a former office block into 94 new apartments in Basildon is now complete and it will soon be welcoming residents who have been waiting on the homeseeker register.

Basildon Council purchased Acorn House Developments (Basildon) Ltd in late 2019 and have worked in partnership with Davis Construction, Aspect CMS and Calfordseaden to convert the former office block into homes including a rooftop extension.

The apartments are based in Great Oaks close to Basildon town centre and are made up of 89 one-bed and five two-bed properties as well as a ground floor concierge space.

Chairman of Basildon Council's Housing and Estate Renewal Committee Cllr Andrew Schrader said: "The completion of this high-quality build will provide much needed homes for our residents who have been patiently waiting on the homeseeker register. Everyone deserves a home to be proud of and these are no exception offering modern, comfortable living close to local amenities and transport hubs."

Managing Direct of Davis Construction, Tom Davis added: "Acorn House was a significant project for Davis Construction, we are pleased to have worked alongside Basildon Borough Council, Aspect CMS and Calfordseadon to deliver these incredible new homes for local residents to enjoy."
