Family tribute to victim of fatal crash in Basildon

A MAN who died following a collision in Basildon has been provisionally identified by Essex Police as 20-year-old Jay Kitching.

Police officers were called at 9.40pm on Tuesday, 15 February to reports of a single vehicle collision in Cranes Farm Road involving a black BMW. The driver of the car was Mr Kitching and he was killed in the crash.

Paying tribute, Jay's family said: "Jay was a much loved son, brother, partner, grandson, nephew and cousin.

"Jay was a kind, caring, loveable young man. His smile was infectious to those around him.

"His love of cars was endless. You couldn't have a conversation without it involving something to do with them.

"Jay will be hugely missed by all of his family and friends."

A police statemenmt added: "We need anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken with our officers to contact us."
