Council kicks anti-social man out: "He was given plenty of chances to change his ways and he chose not to"

ANOTHER tenant has been evicted from a property as part of a Basildon Council crackdown on anti-social behaviour in the borough.
The 58-year-old man was ordered to leave their home in Vange on Tuesday, 3 June after the council obtained a possession order at Basildon Court.
Evidence provided to the court by the council's anti-social behaviour team demonstrated the man had a string of complaints against him including threatening behaviour, verbal abuse, and causing a noise nuisance, all of which had a negative impact on people living nearby.
The decision to evict the tenant came after the man ignored several warnings and opportunities to work with the council and alter his behaviour.
Councillor Kerry Smith, Cabinet Member for Law, Order and Enforcement, said: "This man made everyone's lives a misery, and we hope this latest eviction sends a very clear message to the small minority who think anti-social behaviour is acceptable.
"He was given plenty of chances to change his ways and he chose not to, which left us no other choice but to act with the full force of the law. We will always use every legal power available to us to stand up for residents and restore peace where it has been lost."
The eviction is part of a broader crackdown on anti-social behaviour across the borough, with a focus on protecting victims and reclaiming communities.
It is the latest success for Basildon Council, which has so far this year secured five absolute and suspended possession orders, five injunctions, and four closure orders against tenants causing anti-social behaviour.
