Balaclava-clad men smash car window and steal valuable watches

POLICE are investigating after a number of high value watches were stolen in Pitsea.

It was reported two men – described as white and wearing balaclavas – stole three watches from a vehicle parked at the Costa Coffee in Northlands Pavement at around 4pm on Friday (5 January).

The watches, worth a total of a five-figure sum, are:

- A Rolex Sub Mariner with a black dial and stainless steel strap;

- A Rolex GMT Master with a stainless stell strap with a green and black bezel;

- A Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 with a Tiffany dial and stainless steel strap.

During the incident a window of the vehicle was smashed with an object described as a long pole or similar.

A police statement says: "If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

"We also need to speak to anyone who has been offered one or more of the watches for sale.

"Please quote the crime reference number 42/2521/23.
