BOWERS and Pitsea are through the first proper of the FA Cup after a giant-killing act today (Saturday, 16 October).

They beat the former Football League side Aldershot 2-1 at the Len Salmon Stadium in the Fourth Qualifying Round in front of a crowd of 564.

Lewis Manor gave the hosts the lead with a 45th minute penalty but Corie Andres put the Shots level on 73 minutes.

But the resilient underdogs produced a winner on 80 minutes from Quentin Monville.

In Sunday's draw for the first round, Bowers were rewarded with a trip to League One Lincoln City.
