POLICE have now given details of a crash in Basildon in the early hours of the morning, which claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy and took place while police were carrying out a pursuit.

He died after a van he was travelling in crashed into a wall during an early morning police chase in Basildon.

MOTORISTS who use the a13 who thought they might be spared a weekend of closures along the A13 as Thurrock Council decided not to sanction any for Remembrance weekend will be disappointed to learn that a chunk of the busy road will still be shut off.

As reported on Nub News a section of eastbound A13 near the Five Bells roundabout has been subject to lane narrowing because of a fault on the carriageway.

A FOOTBALL match in Basildon last night (Friday, 5 November) was abandoned after a player was hit by a firework, while others rained down on the pitch.

The game was being played at Bowers & Pitsea's Len Salmon Stadium where tenants Hashtag United were playing a reserves game against Concord Rangers.
