AS the planned reform of administration of health services in south Essex gathers momentum, it has been announced that the appointment has been made of the chief executive for the new Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board.
It will be a new layer of administration over the region, replacing the Clinical Commissioning Groups, though its staff will be integrated into the new organisation.
PLANNED community safety and environmental improvements on the road between Pitsea rail station and the town centre are set to move forwards.
Councillors agreed the £100,000 investment in June and the Leisure and Environment Committee is set to meet again next week (Wednesday, 24 November) to consider proposals and approve consultation with landowners.

TWO Basildon residents have been found guilty of flytipping after dumping household items in the streets they live in.
Both residents pleaded guilty to a charge of dumping controlled waste under s33(1)(a) and 33(6) of the Environmental Protection Act.

COUNCILLORS in Basildon will debate a new strategy for dealing with tenant engagement when they meet next week.
A statement from Basildon Council says tenants and leaseholders in the borough are set to get their voices heard more effectively under the authority's planned new Tenant and Leaseholder Engagement Strategy.

SOUTH Essex College, which has a campus in Basildon, has joined a national initiative to help its staff and students support and connect with the local community, particularly by supporting foodbanks.
The 'Good for ME Good for FE' campaign aims to generate £1m of social value via a programme of community action including volunteering, fundraising and charitable partnerships.
BASILDON town centre's policing team held a 'Coffee with Cops' event on Saturday (13 November) at Costa Coffee Shop in Basildon town centre with the Street Pastors.
A member of the team says: "We would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend and for those who missed it, please keep and eye on our Facebook Page for more dates."
REMEMBRANCE services took place at a number of memorials and venues across Basildon today (14 November).

POLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a collision in Basildon in which a man died).
Officers attempted to stop a white Citroen Berlingo van shortly after 2.30am yesterday (Saturday, 13 November.
POLICE have now given details of a crash in Basildon in the early hours of the morning, which claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy and took place while police were carrying out a pursuit.
He died after a van he was travelling in crashed into a wall during an early morning police chase in Basildon.
