Witness plea after collision that left pedestrian injured. arrest followed.

A MAN has been arrested following a serious collision on the A127 and police officers are appealing for witnesses.

It happened at the crossing on the slip road from the A176 (Uppermayne) on the westbound A127 at around 11pm yesterday (Saturday 16 December).

A silver Ford Focus and a pedestrian were in collision – the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, has sustained injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

The driver of the Focus, a 41 year-old man from Pitsea, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and is currently in custody.

Officers from our Roads Policing Unit are investigating and need anyone who saw anything or has any footage to come forward, quoting incident 1298 of 16 December.
