A woman was left "petrified" after she shared her c2c train commute home - with a fox.
Eve Amoateng, 21, was on her way home from work on the last c2c train of the evening from Southend Central westwards when she was notified the furry passenger was in her carriage.
Eve and fellow travellers were unable to call for help due to a lack of phone signal and were blocked from moving into the next carriage by the fox.
After she left the train at her stop, the fox remained as a solo traveller and carried on – with Eve having "not a clue" if it stayed onto the final destination.
Eve and the commuters had to stand on the tables and seats on the train to try and avoid the fox as it roamed the carriage on her recent half hour journey.
Capturing the bizarre incident on video, student Eve said: "I was just finishing work late that night in Southend so got on the train and sat in the carriage which was empty but there was a group of people right at the back of the carriage – two girls and a guy.
"One of the girls said: "Hi there's a fox roaming around this carriage. If I was you, I'd come and sit with us at the back.
"I went with them to the back of the carriage only to find the fox jumping about on the seats.
"We were panicking thinking we should call 'see it, say it, sorted' but obviously we had no service.

"Even though when the train was moving the fox was scratching at the windows when the doors opened it was stationary.
"The fox kept coming up to us for some reason.
"I just wish I knew what was going on in its head – I wanted to get it off for the fox's sake and ours.
"It just seemed like it would bite, and it was a little bit agitated.
"I just really wish I knew how it got on."
