ARE you free on Sunday. 13 June and able to help terminal illness charity Marie Curie with the Bubble Rush event which has been organised to raise funds for them?

The event takes place at Orsett Showground and is looking for another 20 volunteers to help with the fun run through bubbles and foam event to raise funds to help support people who are dying and their family and friends.

The event involves runners passing through various bubble and foam stations over a 5Km course and is set to be great fun for participants and volunteers!

The charity provides vital care with famous Marie Curie Nurses visiting patients in their own homes across Basildon and the wider local area.

Throughout the past four years Marie Curie has supported more than 1,000 people to die in their own homes and has been on the frontline throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and is urging people to come forward to help and volunteer to make sure the event is a success.

If you can spare a few hours of your time Angela Taylor from the charity said: "It's really important that we can find more volunteers to help with this event and we know the volunteers will have just as much fun as the runners. If you are a friend/family member of a participant and will be there on the day to watch, why not join in the fun by volunteering too?"

For more information on volunteering get in touch with Angela to find out more on: 07872 503670 or email: [email protected] .

Bubble Rush events are being planned to ensure they operate in a COVID-safe way, in line with guidance issued by the Government and the Events industry. This includes provision for social distancing and enhanced hygiene measures. In addition the organisers plans have been audited in line with the events industry's 'Safe Event Scheme' to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.

If you'd like to take part in the event itself visit the Bubble Rush website here.
