TRAFFIC backed up and there was considerable congestion around the A13 Pitsea flyover junction after an agricultural vehicle shed its load of grass cuttings at lunchtime today (Wednesday, 22 June).

The spillage blocked the exit to the rail station, Wat Tyler Park and Tesco store and also the A13 westbound slipway.

Police managed traffic while a team of workers righted the vehicle and reloaded the grass using two pieces of farm machinery.

It was expected the routes would be cleared by around 1.30pm.
