POLICE have renewed an appeal for information - saying they will not give up on trying to find the killers of a young man in Basildon three years ago.

Dwayne Forrester was stabbed in the chest in the Little Garth area of Pitsea at around 8.45pm on 7 July 2018. He was just 21.

"Three years is too long to go without answers. Please, help give Dwayne's family the justice they deserve" – that's the message from the officer leading the investigation into the murder.

Despite an extensive investigation which has seen officers take 400 statements, seize 820 exhibits, and view more than 180 hours of CCTV footage, his family still don't have the answers to what happened to him.

Six people have been arrested in connection with Dwayne's murder and two of them – a 24 year-old man and a 25 year-old man – remain released under investigation.

Detective Inspector Julie Gowen, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, is leading the investigation into Dwayne's murder.

She said: "Dwayne's family have gone through three years of pain. Three years of not knowing what happened to him.

"Three years of knowing someone, somewhere has the information which could be crucial to bringing his killer to justice.

"You could be the person who helps ease their agony. You could be the person who gives them closure.

"Dwayne was their baby boy, their little brother. Put yourself in their place – what if this was your brother, your son, your friend?

"If you don't want to speak to us, then contact Crimestoppers. You can give information to them 100 percent anonymously.
