Teenager hurt in collision, woman arrested for suspected drug driving

POLICE are appealing for information following a collision in Eastmayne, Basildon, that left a teenage boy seriously injured.

A statement from the Essex force says: "We were called to reports a car had been in collision with a teenage boy who was on a bike shortly after 6.35pm yesterday (Sunday, 6 July).

"The 16 year-old had sustained a serious injury to his shoulder and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"His condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"A 20 year-old woman from the Billericay area was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and has since been released under investigation.
