SWIMMING lessons is a designated pool have been put on hold for a month at Basildon's Sporting Village.

The learner pool will close from Saturday, 25 February until Saturday, 25 March for refurbishment.

Work due to be carried out includes installation of new lighting and tiling.

Customers who have lessons there will have their regular direct debit frozen on March 1 and restarted again on April 1.

A spokesman for Basildon Sporting Village said: "The main pool remains open and all lessons will continue as normal.

"If you have other children on the swim scheme the sessions held in the main pool will take place as usual.

"If you would like to sign up for swimming lessons, please come into the centre and speak with one of our team.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding."
