School celebrates Ofsted verdict
ST Margaret's Church of England Academy in Bowers Gifford has been rated 'Good' in all areas following its latest Ofsted inspection conducted on 24 and 25 September 2024.
The Ofsted report describes St Margaret's as "a warm and friendly school" where "pupils are happy to come to school".
It highlights that "from Nursery, pupils look forward to the exciting learning that staff prepare for them, especially their history lessons"
The inspection noted the school's high expectations for pupils' achievement, stating, "Leaders have high expectations for pupils' achievement. Pupils learn a well-balanced and sequenced curriculum that helps them to do more in their learning".
The report also commended the school's focus on reading, noting, "Reading has been prioritised across the school. Children in Nursery develop their storytelling skills with enthusiasm".
Headteacher Clare Crosbie, who was appointed in September 2024, commented: "We are delighted with the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection. This report reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire school community.
"We are committed to providing a high-quality education for all our pupils and look forward to building on this success."
