RECYCLING Basildon resdients are in the pink following a pro-active move by Basildon Council.

The council has acted to head off potential problems due to the popularity of its waste and recycling service.

It says: "Our waste and recycling services are currently experiencing high levels of demand, which has put a temporary strain on the delivery of pink sacks.

"In order to manage this, we have brought forward the annual delivery to all households by four months.

"Alongside this, over 1,000 bundles of sacks have just been delivered to the council, to distribute to residents who have requested additional pink sacks.

"These can be requested quickly and simply, as can all our other waste services, via the free 'Our Streets Basildon' app."
