£60K in cash and jewels taken in car raid after couple are threatened by masked men

POLICE are investigating a robbery which took place in Dunton during which a couple were threatened by masked men.

Officers were called to an address Lower Dunton Road at about 8pm on Tuesday, 26 April. A couple were stopped in a black Range Rover when three men approached them and made threats.

During the incident, the man was dragged from the car. His partner was able to flee the scene. Neither victim sustained serious injuries but are understandably shaken up.

The men then disabled the vehicle and stole a large amount of cash and jewellery from the boot of the vehicle. The total value of items and cash taken was about £60,000.

A statement from police says: "We believe the group, which included two additional men at the scene who did not engage with the victims, arrived and fled in a white BMW 1 series.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.

"If you have any information, you can submit a report online or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
