POLICE are appealing for the public's help to identify a man in connection with an ongoing criminal damage investigation in Basildon.

Officers were called to Southend Arterial Road in Basildon at around 10am on 4 August following reports of a young man dropping an object from a bridge onto the road.

The object, which looked like a brick narrowly missed cars on the road on the Eastbound carriageway.

Enquiries have remained ongoing and investigating officers have now released an image of a man they would like to speak with in connection with the investigation.

A police statement says: "If you recognise him or have any further information, please contact us. Please quote reference number 42/139029/23.
