Police give more information and call for witnesses after death crash

POLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a collision in Basildon in which a man died).
Officers attempted to stop a white Citroen Berlingo van shortly after 2.30am yesterday (Saturday, 13 November.
It failed to stop and a short time later the vehicle was in collision with a wall in Pound Lane, Bowers Gifford.
A 17-year-old man died at the scene. Three further people were taken to hospital, where one remains in a potentially serious condition.
A police statement says: "We arrested three people on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
An 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man have been released under investigation, and a 17-year-old girl has been released on bail until December 1. We have made a mandatory referral to the IOPC.
