Off duty police officers attacked and injured

ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Billericay last night (Wednesday, 7 July) when two off duty Met Police officers were attacked and injured - one of them seriously.

Police were called to Billericay train station just after 10.50pm, where the two male officers were found injured near the taxi rank, having been assaulted by two men who were not known to them.

One of the officers suffered a serious injury and is described as being is in a stable condition. The other suffered a minor injury.

Officers are continuing their enquiries today and anyone with information is urged to contact Basildon CID quoting incident number 1350 of 7 July.
