BASILDON Council has released details of the new play area to be created at Swan Mead Park which it hopes to have open before the end of the year.

The selected option was chosen by a majority of residents in a face-to-face consultation at the site back in July.

The new, inclusive play area will feature more than 30 pieces of varied equipment, and comes after the equipment in the existing play area had to be removed last year, after serious vandalisation and fire damage.
