"I BELIEVE there are still people in the community who know what happened but have not yet come forward" – that's the message from the detective leading the investigation into the murder of Terry Leeks in Basildon.
It's three months since 46 year-old Mr Leeks died. He was assaulted in Northlands Park in the early hours of 11 July. To date, nine people have been arrested on suspicion of his murder.
Six remain on bail, two have been released under investigation, and one has been told they face no further action.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "The investigation into Terry's murder has been extensive and is continuing apace.
"So far, we have taken 350 witness statements, viewed 250 hours of CCTV footage, and seized 1009 items of evidence.
"However, I still believe there are people in the community who know what happened who have yet to come forward.
"My team and I want justice for Terry's family who have been left devastated by his death.
"So, I urge you – if you know something about his murder, no matter how small you believe it is, do the right thing and come forward to report it.
"If you don't feel comfortable speaking to us then report it to Crimestoppers 100 percent anonymously."
Police have released a new photograph of Mr Leeks to accompany their appeal.
If you have any information you can report it to police by calling 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/136379/21. You can also report it online Crimestoppers they don't ask your name or any personal details, they don't record your call and your number is never displayed.
When information is passed to the police, it doesn't contain any information which could identify you.
