Man was held and assaulted in underpass attack

POLICE are investigating an assault which took place in Basildon during which a man was set upon by three other men. 

The incident took place at about 7pm on Thursday, 24 March in an underpass in Broadmayne.

As he was walking through, the victim, aged in his 20s, was approached by the men. Two of the trio then restrained him while the remaining man assaulted the victim, causing a wound to his arm.

The first of the men is described as skinny, about 5ft 7ins, with a deep voice. He was wearing a face covering, a black hooded top and jeans.

The second man is 5ft 8ins, also skinny and was also wearing a face covering. 

The third is of large build and about 5ft 10ins. 

A statement from Essex Police says: "We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV or dash cam footage to contact us.
