Man injured when he is knocked off bike which is then stolen by masked man

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery where a man's electric bike was taken after he was in collision with a car in Bowers Gifford at around 2am today (Saturday, 24 September).

It was reported that the man in his 20s was in London Road travelling towards Pitsea when the incident happened. The victim suffered serious injuries to his leg and was taken to hospital.

A man, who had his face covered, is reported to have got out of a silver Ford Focus car, threatened the victim and told him not to move before taking his bike. The car, driven by a second man who is described as having blond hair, drove off towards Pitsea.

A statement from Essex Police says: "Anyone with information about the incident, or who has dashcam or any other footage of it which has not yet been passed to us, is asked to contact us as soon as possible. Please quote incident 0126 of September 24.
