A MAN has been charged as part of an ongoing investigation into online child sexual offences. 

Jay Lang, 23, of Driftway, Basildon was arrested yesterday morning (Thursday, 17 November).

He has now been charged with 44 counts of offences including a variety of offences from inciting/engaging/causing sexual activity with a child, Child sexual exploitation offences, blackmail, indecent image related offences and was scheduled to appear at Southend Magistrates' Court today.

Specialist officers are continuing to pursue a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this investigation.
