BASILDON Market is to host four weeks of free Family Fun Days from tomorrow (Saturday, 31 July).

The market will feature activities including live music from jazz fusion band New Birth 360, they'll be free caricatures created by local artists Sara Louise, as well as guest appearances from Peppa Pig and Toy Story's Woody.

The events will take place between 10am – 4pm and the happenings in the subsequent weeks include free arts and crafts activities, magicians and balloon modellers.

Chairman of the Leisure and Environment Committee CllrCraig Rimmer said: "Having these events for four consecutive weeks is fantastic for Basildon Market.

"Last weekend's one at Wickford Market was really well attended and there were lots of happy families and children enjoying the goings on, and I'm sure the same will be the case starting this Saturday at the Basildon events.

"I really encourage everyone to pay it a visit this weekend, these are fantastic, free events happening in our town centres that should really be taken advantage of."

The events are happening in partnership with GoTrade, who aim to boost traditional markets, employment and skills across Southern England and Northern France.
