Four youths, aged 13, 14, 16 and 17 arrested after town centre stabbing

FOUR teenagers have been arrested following an incident in Basildon town centre in which two people sustained stab wounds.

As reported on Basildon Nub News yesterday (Tuesday, 4 November) police responded just after after 3pm today to the incident in the St Martins Square area.

A 14 year-old boy from Basildon was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of a knife or bladed article.

A 13 year-old boy from Basildon was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent, ABH, and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 17 year-old boy from Leigh-on-Sea was arrested on suspicion of GBH without intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

And a 16 year-old boy from Southend was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

All four has since been released on bail until 27 October.

Police say additional high visibility patrols are taking place in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
