Flytipper was hauled before court

A BASILDON man has been convicted of fly-tipping and sentenced to a community order, which includes 40 hours of unpaid work in the community. 

The man appeared at Basildon Magistrates' Court where he pleaded guilty to fly-tipping under Sections 33 and 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. 

Cllr Aidan McGurran, Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, stated: "Fly-tipping is a criminal act and those responsible can face fines and prosecution.
