A BASILDON dad and his two sons will be taking part in a fundraising run this weekend.

On Saturday (12 February) Colin Wishart and his boys Harry and Max will be taking part in a 10K run to raise funds for Cancer Research.

Colin, a member of Basildon Twinning group, says: "It is estimated that in our lifetime one in every two of us will get cancer. We need to keep up the battle to find new and better treatments to make life better for us all.

"We're taking on the Winter Run Challenge 2022 for Cancer Research UK, in association with Basildon Twinning. This is a cause close to the hearts of quite a few of our members. Please help us reach our target and bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

"Cancer Research UK has been hit hard by COVID-19. Almost every way they fund their research has been impacted by the pandemic. Their ambition of three in four people surviving cancer by 2034 remains unchanged. Despite these significant cuts, they will remain the world's leading charitable funder of cancer research."
