BASILDON Council has launched a consultation to gain residents' views around parking ahead of developing a parking strategy for the borough.

The consultation is to capture views on issues such as the level of parking within the town centres, the locations of the car parks, the cost of parking, and thoughts on the availability of on-street parking including within residential roads.

The responses to the survey will aid in the development of an off-road and on-road parking strategy, that will guide the long-term approach to parking provision across the borough.

Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning and Infrastructure, Cllr Richard Moore, said: "This exercise will help us understand the experience that residents have when parking not just around their homes, but also when out and about across the borough.

"We want to develop a parking strategy for the long term, and all views are important as part of the consultation as everyone's experiences will be different. So please do take part and have your say."

The consultation is live now and will conclude at 23:59 on 31 December 2022.
