ESSEX Police have issued an appeal to the public as they try to locate a missing teenager.

14-year-old Telaqwon Kamara, who is missing from Basildon, is described as black, around 5ft 7 ins tall, has short dark hair and is of slim build.

When he was last seen he was wearing his school uniform – a black blazer, a white shirt with a tie – he was also wearing a black padded jacket and black shoes.

He has links to London and Manchester.

A police statement says: "We're worried about him and need to find him to make sure he's ok.

"If you've seen him, or have any information as to his whereabouts, please call us on 999 quoting incident 0044 of 15 May."
