POLICE continue to investigate the cause of death after a woman's body was found in Basildon's Gloucester Park.

The body was discovered on saturday (2 July) morning the park adjacent to Honeypot Lane and Butneys.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to Gloucester Park in Basildon at 9.10am yesterday, Saturday, July 2, following concerns for the welfare of a woman.

"Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her death is being treated as unexplained and our enquiries are ongoing."
