Angry mum condemns teens who tore down missing dog posters

By Neil Speight 7th Apr 2021

THE distraught owner of a missing dog has condemned young people who have gone round her local community ripping down posters asking for information about the pet.

Last month Basildon Nub News reported on the lost Dachshund called Dory, who has gone missing from the home of Ellie-Ashleigh Florence in Laindon leaving her two-year-old daughter Luna heartbroken.

As well as posting on social media and searching the area with a team of volunteers, Ellie–Ashleigh had a number of posters professionally printed carrying details of Dory and offering a reward.

However, they have repeatedly been ripped down.

Ellie–Ashleigh, who has posted security camera footage of teenagers apparently taking down posters, says: "I've paid to have my posters professionally made and professionally printed! Which costs a fortune! For what? I haven't done this for people to keep ripping them down on purpose.

"We have been lucky enough to have amazing local volunteers doing certain areas to make people aware there's a missing dog in the area! I appreciate kids will be kids but group of them have gone upo and down a whole road and the next road ripping every single posters down.

"I've had to go and repost the whole lot once again. I'm not doing anything wrong but trying to keep people's eyes open and peeled for my little girl's best friend that we desperately need home.

"I'm not making these posters and going on radio stations and hitting the newspapers for nothing! I hope this is understood that I'm just trying to get a family member home where she's belongs!

"If these are your teenagers can you please ask them to stop this disgusting behaviour?"
