PLANS for a new restaurant in Pitsea - to replace a betting shop - have been given the green light.

Basildon Council planning officers have permitted the change of use for the premises at 102 Rectory Road.

The café/restaurant to have nine tables providing 36 covers, with service bar and kitchen in the south-east corner of the premises.

The application stated that the intended opening hours for the proposed use are to be 8 am to 11 pm Mondays to Saturdays, with Sunday and Bank Holidays 9am to10.30pm.

It is stated that three full time and four part time staff will be employed on the site.

The proposal would also include a new ventilation and extraction system, which following revisions terminates to the rear with short vertical extraction duct rising above the existing single storey rear element of the premises.

Full details of the application can be found via this link.
