ESSEX'S first-ever ice cream festival has been announced, serving up a "truly unforgettable" celebration for Father's Day.

Stacked with a whole host of flavours to suit all tastes, the Father's Day Ice Cream Festival is organised in partnership with the popular Rossi Ice Cream Company.

It will take place for one weekend only, on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June, at Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park in South Woodham Ferrers.

The festival promises a wide variety of ice cream flavours from longstanding Essex ice cream maker Rossi, founded in Southend in 1931.

Organisers say the event is designed to offer families a fresh alternative to the traditional Father's Day outing, with activities and interactive experiences for all ages throughout Marsh Farm.

Stephen Miller, parks director at Marsh Farm, said: "Dads don't want any more socks or bottle openers for Father's Day.

"Instead, we're offering a brand-new family festival experience that will be truly unforgettable.

This two-day festival is bursting with a mouth-watering line-up of ice cream.

"While the kids dive into fun games and meet their favourite walkabout characters, mums, dads and grandparents can relax with a refreshing treat."

At nearly a century old, Rossi Ice Cream has become one of Essex's most recognisable family brands, known for its traditional Italian-style ice cream and generations of seaside memories.

Next month, families can enjoy a celebration of both classic favourites and unique flavour creations.

Organisers hope the event will become a new annual tradition for families across the county.

The event will also include access to Marsh Farm's popular animal attractions, play areas and family entertainment, making it a full day out for visitors celebrating Father's Day weekend.
