BASILDON Council has announced that 45 electric charging points are soon to be installed on the ground level of Basildon's Great Oaks car park in the centre of the town.
A further 45 passive charging points will be installed on the first floor for if capacity is needed to be expanded in the future.
POLICE are appealing for information about the theft of a wedding ring from a man who was in Basildon Hospital for treatment.
The ring (pictured) was taken from the victim, who is in his 70s, at around 3pm on 25 November.
BASILDON Council is seeking the views of residents regarding the concept design for a new play area to be created at Wat Tyler Country Park.
The new play area comes as part of the council's Play Review, a 10-year programme of approximately £9 million investment in the borough's play areas, to create a network of play facilities for residents across the borough.

FIREFIGHTERS in Basildon helped to release a curious puppy who had managed to get stuck in a food tin this evening.

FOUR people, including a 15 year-old boy, have been charged following an investigation into Class A drug supply in Basildon.
Essex police's Operation Raptor drugs investigation team executed four warrants in Basildon in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday, 7 January).
A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of Dwayne Forrester in Basildon.
Twenty-one year-old Dwayne was found injured in Little Garth, Pitsea on 7 July 2018 and later died.

AN investigation has been launched after a Basildon man complained that a voicemail he received from the NHS Test and Trace service 'sounded like two people having sex'.
The story came to light in a BBC Essex report when Basildon resident William Ryan, who had tested positive for Covid, told the news service he was "disgusted" by the message.
A NEW swimming pool could be coming to Pitsea as part of a council strategy to improve local public health and fitness.
The new four-lane, 25 metre-long pool would be part of an extension to Eversley Leisure Centre in Crest Avenue, which is run by Everyone Active for Basildon Borough Council.
POLICE in Basildon are appealing for anyone who saw or has footage of a robbery in in the town in which a 13 year-old boy was the victim of a gang.
It was reported the boy was walking towards the underpass at the end of Luncies Road at around 4.45pm on Monday, 27 December when he was approached by a group of six people.
