A WOMAN who assaulted police officers in Basildon has been jailed.

Victoria Ann Brett, 31, whose address was given at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court as HM Prison, Saville Road, Peterborough, admitted damaging a police van and assaulting an officer in Basildon on 21 July last year.

She also admitted assaulting another two officers in Chelmsford on the same day.

Magistrates delivered a six week prison sentence, saying the offence was aggravated by being committed against an emergency worker acting in the exercise of their duty.

And they ordered her to pay compensation of £150.
