APPROVAL has been granted to convert a disused former pub into an a community centre and place of worship for the South Essex Islamic Trust.
Vange councillor Yetunde Adeshile has welcomed the approval and says: "The South Essex Islamic Trust has made significant changes to accommodate legal requirements and they have shown a willingness to positively engage with the community.
"This approval is likely to bring many changes to the area and I hope we will all work with the Trust to make Vange work for everyone.
"Vange ward will be what we all make it."
