Two charged after drugs team pounce

TWO men have been charged in connection with an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs in Basildon.

Specialist officers from Essex Police's anti drugs crime Op Raptor South team executed two warrants in the town on Wednesday morning (12 January) and arrested three people.

Two men have now been charged.

Gavon Smith, 29, of Palmer Road, in London and Marc Dickson, 40, of Scarletts, in Basildon, are both charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.

Both men appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on Thursday,13 January and denied all charges.

They are next due appear at Basildon Crown Court on 2 February.

A third person, a woman from Basildon, who was arrested as part of the investigation has been issued a community resolution.
