Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after assault

Two people have been arrested on sspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Basildon.

Police were called to Travers Way following reports a man in his 30s had sustained a stab wound at around 8.50pm on Tuesday (14 May).

He was taken to hospital with a serious chest injury but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Yesterday (Thursday, 16 May) two men from Basildon, aged 19 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, being concerned in the supply of drugs, and possession of Class A drugs.

They are currently in custody for questioning.

Another man who had been arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail until 26 July.
