Twinners have a busy time ahead while head Liz is stepping out

A NUMBER of events have been planned by Basildon's Twinning starting with a symbolic football match next week and next month a local headteacher will be walking the borough boundary as part of an Oktoberfest at her school.

In collaboration with Basildon Council, Ryan Donnelly is forming a Young Twins Team to play a team of refugees in a game to launch the twinning group's contribution to the International Day of Peace. The game will be played at 6pm on Monday, 20 September at Beauchamps School in Wickford.

Other events coming up include:

Sunday, 3 October - Oktoberfest at Vange Primary School from 3pm. (Beer and German Sausages £5 per person). Headteacher Liz Keeble will be doing a sponsored walk in aid of Basildon Borough Twinning where she will walk the whole Borough boundary and will return to the school to join the Oktoberfest at around 5pm.

Sunday, 10 October. Clay Pigeon Shoot North Benfleet Hall Farm, North Benfleet Hall Road from 2 to 6. Also includes, air rifles, tractor rides and a football challenge and children can see the farm animals. Also a BBQ and raffle (shooters £20 pp over 16's only).

Saturday, 30 October. Wat Tyler Park Green Centre, Pitsea. Halloween Cake Bake competition at 12.30pm to 3pm. Entries need to be in by 11.30am for judging. Cakes will be sold with a drink at 12.20pm and winner announced.
