WICKFORD Wombles community group were out and about over the weekend, helping clean up the local environment.

In excess of 25 bags of rubbish were collected in the River Crouch area and thanks have been expressed to Roy Hart for collecting the rubbish and supporting the event.

Among those collecting in Wickford over the weekend was mini Womble Mia, who won praose for the group for getting stuck in and helping.
