The good ambassadors

FOOTBALL players from Beauchamps High School have been awarded 'Good Ambassador' trophies following their successful friendship tour to Basildon's twin town of Heiligenhaus.

The boys played two matches in Germany, drawing 3-3 in one game and winning the second match 11-3 but the main aim of the tour was to renew friendships with twinning friends after three years of non-participation due to Covid restrictions.

The reception from the German partners was described as terrific and new friendships were formed. The tour also included an introduction to handball with the team playing in a local tournament. This is something Twinning hope to build on in the future.

The players were highly praised for their conduct and the good name they had brought to Basildon Borough by Basildon Mayor Councillor Luke MacKenzie and his Deputy Councillor Yetunde Adeshile at the 'Good Ambassador' presentation.
